[DeTomaso] Need opinion regarding harmonic balancers

ATI and Romac make the best dampers available. Expect to pay $250 to $350.
You can have your damper restored to like new for about $100 from Damper
Dudes in Redding CA at 530-244-7225. Or you can experiment with the various
other balancers available.

SFI certification is mostly for Racing purposes and does not infer quality.
I have seen many of SFI certified parts fail.

I was just talking with my local speed and machine shop yesterday about the
"Rattler". He has never put them on an engine but has taken them off many
times. He went on to tell me he was breaking in a customer's engine that the
customer insisted on having a TCI balancer and after a few minutes the
racket coming from the damper was so god awful the customer had him pull the
damper off and replace it with a factor replacement.
