To Ara, et. a.: Brain-Storm Products in Atlanta (Andy Cork, 1-800-779-3223) used to sell just such a device, called the Button Up (about $9). This is not a Miata-specific item. You may be able to find it at auto parts stores. This was essentially a 9-volt battery elimninator that allowed your garage door opener to operate on 12 volt auto power. The power to the opener is interrupted by a momentary contact switch (a spring-loaded, normally open push button) that you install in a hidden location in the cockpit. The normal push button on the door opener is disabled by some parts in the Button Up kit so that the opener is in the "on" position all the time. Activation of the opener is now controlled by the push button power switch. Mount the door opener itself up under the dash board in a location that will allow the transmitted signal to successfully reach the receiver in your garage. I installed this item in my Miata years ago and have had great success ever since. It's a very handy way to keep the opener out of sight and to keep your Miata interior uncluttered. Cheers, DRAKE A.
