Well to clear things up a bit. I am originally from WI. Sorry for the
confusion. The car just arrived from Odessa, TX. I bought it sight unseen.
So far I am extremely happy. A solid car like none to be found around here.
Always liked the look of these things but I never even saw one up close until
this one rolled off the truck. Boy, is it cool!
I pulled the 3310 with 750 vac secondaries off of it. Installed the 800
marine carb. with a 1" four hole spacer plate. 72 primary jets 86
secondaries as there is no rear power valve. New plugs, wires and a K&N Marine
approved filter. The thing started as soon as it got gas. Idles fine and
pulls hard. Fairly crisp off idle for the intake and cam it has. I might get
a set of Rhodes lifters for it. I have had good luck in the past using them
on ratty hyd. cams. Put no real miles on it though, just kind of shot it down
the rode behind the shop.
EFI is cool but I made a commitment to keep this old girl carburated. Would
be fun to stroke it though. I wish someone would make a more streetable
aluminum head for the 351C. I can see next it will need a Hi Torque starter.
Turns real hard after it has warmed up some. I will probably replace its
battery with a jell type also.
Thank you to everyone who replied. It helped me a lot to get a feel for what
people are running.
Keith.
