I have a 72 pre L and live in the Orange County area. The compressor, evaporator, condenser, evaporator fan, condenser fan, dryer, sight glass, and trunk mounted hoses appear to be original. The hoses in the cockpit look pretty good. I don't know if they have been replaced or have just weathered better being inside. All of the electrical things appear to work, ie the evaporator and condenser fans spin when they are supposed to, the electrical clutch engages the compressor and so on. There appear to be bubbles in the sight glass when the air conditioning is on, so it may not be that big of deal to fix. Oh, I should add it hasn't worked since I bought the car 4 years ago. Before I start the air conditioning repairs I thought I would poll the collective wisdom of those who have gone before me and hopefully avoid another $2,500 repair adventure in Panteraland. And yes, I could do most of the work myself. How well does the stock pantera air conditioning perform when in good working order. Could two people stay comfortable on a 95 deg day in LA traffic or a 95 deg blast to Vegas? If not, does anyone have any experience with the various options available, ie rotory compressors, larger evaporator fans, larger condensers, moving the condenser in front of the radiator etc. Thanks
